		<description>Hello,
Can you help me find any information about my grandfather, George Edward Marshall, born Scotland about 1874, who was serving as a corporal in the Seaforth Highlanders at Ranikhet, Uttar Pradesh, India, in 1910, when and where my father was born to my grandmother, Elizabeth Middleton Marshall, born Scotland about 1883. Both grandparents died before I was born and so far I have not found out much about them. The family story was that they returned from India when my father was two years old and later settled in Yorkshire, where I still am.

		<description>Hi Ross
If you beleive that your grandfather was Scottish you should be able to find details on www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk. Tapper is not an island surname from our area but the Seaforth Highlanders will have recruited throughout Scotland. I did a quick search on Tapper and there are a few records so you may be lucky.
Regards
